I currently work in the Mathematics and Science Education Department at University of Georgia. Previously, I taught calculus and helped direct the calculus center at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. I was inspired to pursue my PhD in mathematics education at Arizona State University because of my experiences as a high school teacher. Through the past twelve years of teaching and learning my goals have stayed the same: I want to help mathematics teachers and students. At a minimum, I hope that students believe that they can make sense of mathematics. But the real goal is that they see mathematics as a surprisingly elegant way to understand our beautiful universe. Whenever I’m not teaching or researching, I make my best effort to be out, under the sun, exploring our world.
